Salambigar, 02nd July 2023 – Ghanim International Corporation is hosting a one-day food event, The Junction Feastival, at The Junction outlet in Salambigar. The Feastival initiative brought together the local community, offering a day filled with fun activities and exclusive shopping deals boasting an array of food selections from local food business owners and activities including quizzes, games, henna painting, face painting among others, as part of a promotional campaign to bring awareness to The Junction @ Salambigar outlets.
The Junction Retail Entrepreneurship Programme is an initiative under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance and Economy launched in April 2021 to encourage local participation in the retail sector. Currently, Ghanim International Corporation is operating seven The Junction outlets in Salambigar, Kiarong, Gadong Central, Armada Tungku, MOFE and Brunei International Airport.
The Junction @ Salambigar began operating at its location since November 2022. As a fully Bruneian owned and operated convenience store, The Junction houses a collection of more than thirty MSME products in addition to the variety of daily items that are usually available at convenience stores. The Junction Retail Outlets are also home to bruneihalalfoods products and are always the first outlets to retail new products from the brand.
The Feast-tivle event commenced at 9.30AM and continued until 5.30PM, captivating over 300 visitors with the vibrant atmosphere and a wide array of culinary delights throughout the day. The event provided an excellent platform for local MSMEs to showcase their products and foster collaborations within the community.
Additionally, in continuance with the Shop & Fly campaign ran across all The Junction outlets during the whole month of May, a grand lucky draw and prize presentation was held on the afternoon of July 2nd, at the Salambigar branch of the retail outlet with a prize presentation ceremony for the Shop & Fly lucky draw winners. The winners were selected through a random draw, and the prizes were generously sponsored by The Junction. The esteemed winners were:
- First Prize: Muhd Zulfadli bin Adi Rahman, who won a BND800 Royal Brunei Travel Voucher.
- Second Prize: Ismail Bin Hj Abd Wahab, who won a BND500 Royal Brunei Travel Voucher.
- Third Prize: Muhammad Ilham bin Haji Na’aim, who won a BND300 Royal Brunei Travel Voucher.
These prizes were presented by Dr Nur Rahman, the Chief Executive Officer of Ghanim International Corporation. Dr Nur Rahman expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support from the community and congratulated the winners on their prize. In his remarks, he urged the community to support The Junction as it is a fully Bruneian owned and operated initiative led by the Ministry of Finance and Economy that also supports our MSME and local business owners.
The success of the Feast-tivle event and the Shop & Fly lucky draw prize presentation has motivated The Junction to continue organizing similar events in the future. The Junction aims to create opportunities for MSMEs to thrive and foster a sense of community togetherness.
