Ghanim introduces new made in Brunei cooking oil

Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd launched the first cooking oil produced in Brunei Darussalam under the bruneihalalfoods brand. In a launch event hosted by Ghanim International at the Multipurpose Room of the Brunei Food Industry Development (BFID) Multipurpose Facility, Chief Executive Officer of Ghanim, Dr Nur Rahman, welcomed invited guests and members of the media to the first unveiling of the high-quality, locally produced vegetable cooking oil.

Present as the guest of honour is Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Bin Abdullah, Minister At The Prime Minister’s Office And Minister Of Finance And Economy II, Ministry Of Finance And Economy.

The cooking oil has been produced in collaboration with Western Foods and Packaging Sdn Bhd (WFP), and has gone through extensive research and development to deliver exceptional frying result. The launch marks a significant milestone for Ghanim International with the addition of an essential commodity to the bruneihalalfoods portfolio that reflects the country’s effort in strengthening food security.

In his opening remarks, Dr Nur Rahman said that the company “has evolved and grown to be a key player in contributing to the national aspirations for food security, for import substitution, for food exports as well as, importantly developing local human capital in the food industry, growing MSMEs thereby playing our part to contribute to the growth of food industry in Brunei Darussalam”

Also present were Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin Bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister Of Finance and Economy (Economy), Ministry of Finance and Economy, as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Ghanim International Corporation, members of the Board, and representatives from several MSMEs and supermarket outlets.

As part of the launch event, guests had the opportunity to experience the cooking oil firsthand through a cooking demonstration and sample various dishes prepared using the bruneihalalfoods’ vegetable oil.

The cooking oil is now available in retail outlets and supermarkets across Brunei.
