Interested entrepreneurs learned more about “The Junction” Convenience Store Retail Entrepreneurship Development Programme in an info session organised by Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd held at the Workshop Auditorium, Design & Technology Building, Kg Anggerek Desa.
Present during the information sharing session to welcome the potential candidates was Dr Nur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer, Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd also present were Fatin Arifin, Business Strategy & Development Manager, Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd and Suserena Hashim, Commercial Manager, Direct Retail, Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd.
“The Junction” is positioned as Brunei’s one-stop convenience store franchise and is an expansion of “The Junction” kiosks owned by Ghanim International Corporation that has been operating successfully since 2019 at various establishments including the Ministry of Finance and Economy, Ministry of Health and Brunei international Airport among others.
Those in attendance were given further insight on the already launched structured Retail
Entrepreneurship Development Programme. It was shared that the said programme was developed as a platform to encourage local participation in the convenience store business as well as acting as a route for MSMEs products to reach the market where Ghanim acts as the facilitator to promote local young entrepreneurs to act as franchisees in the running of “The Junction” convenience stores.
“Through this program, the entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to experience first-hand day to day operational requirements to operate convenience stores and gain exposure and understanding to market dynamic demands and needs so we hope to see our local youth rise to utilise this opportunity that is provided by the government and take on the challenge to be successful,” said Dr Nur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer, Ghanim International Corporation Sdn Bhd
The event ended with a networking session where those in attendance were given the opportunity to get to know one another as well as the team behind the “The Junction”.
Currently there are a total of three “The Junction” convenience stores which are in operation namely The Junction, Mentiri, “The Junction” at The Korner, Tungku Estate Armada and “The Junction” BIBD Connects Lambak with more planned to be in operation at the end of the year.
